It’s time to bring back the storehouse.

A blueprint of the New Testament church, driven by the Spirit of God and homesteaders, for such a time as this.

What if church buildings looked more like storehouses?

The reality is this—the body of Christ was not created to be a building, but a people. In the book of Acts we can clearly see the physical body of Christ in action. It wasn’t just through miracles, signs, and preaching the gospel. The church grew so quickly in number each day, that literally thousands of people were coming into the body of Christ and needed to be tended to. How do you think that worked so well?

“The blameless spend their days under the Lord’s care,
and their inheritance will endure forever.

In times of disaster they will not wither;
in days of famine they will enjoy plenty.”

Psalm 37:18-19 NIV

How Does the Church Storehouse Work?

The church storehouse only works when we are in communion with one another in our community, region, city, and beyond.

“The Church” is a body of Christian Bible believers that believe in the life, death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ. We believe in the one true and living God—Yahweh—Who is three in one (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). Each church body that meets looks a little different, but ultimately believe in the same doctrine of Jesus Christ.

The Storehouse is a blueprint for new or current bodies of believers in the church that want to implement a true New Testament church. The concept is that the storehouse provides for the body of Christ so that none are in need (Acts 4:34). Whether it is food, medicinal supplies, prepping products, or services, the storehouse is a central point for the body of Christ, orphans, widows, and more. All to the glory of Jesus.

Anyone! You do not have to be a pastor or a preacher to build or implement a storehouse. There are many types of leaders and graces in the body of Christ. If God is leading you to build or implement the storehouse blueprint, there must be a reason!

Historically, and throughout the Bible, God prepared His people ahead of chaos and famine. This is one reason we believe so greatly in the storehouse. However, we were created to be a kingdom, and a community. If the church is taking care of itself and its people, it truly steps into the governmental role it was already meant to be. We become the ones in charge of our food, health, and education system. This is the best way!

First, if you are part of a local church body (even just a home church), ask if they would like to implement this design. If you are not part of a local church body but feel compelled to implement this on your property, that’s ok too! But know that running a storehouse takes a lot of helping hands. Read our “build” tab for more info.

It truly depends on what you are building. Some people build small buildings or barns, others purchase entire shopping centers. Seek the Lord and ask Him what He wants for your community!

Generally, there are no laws against donating and giving away homegrown food. There isn’t an issue until you “sell” this food. But we can help you navigate this as you get started depending on your storehouse goals.

In times of peace, or in times of war, the church was created to be a place of refuge.

It is time for us to reform the earthly systems, and the body of Christ. The kingdom of God is not just church on Sunday. For far too long the church has been pouring resources into frivolous things, but we were created to build places of refuge, not places of entertainment and programs. When times of chaos and famine come, it is the church that will rise up in the glory of the Lord and liberate the captives, provide for the needy, and heal the sick and broken hearted.

The time to build is now!
